Artist's Description

Interesting c. 1900 view of Colby Hill, from Columbus Jordan Rd. looking East in Plainfield, NH.
The house on the left built by Joseph Kimball in 1794 was later owned by Colby/Wildey/Fletcher/Brooks, and now Bonney. The house on the right built in 1798 by Micaijah Adams, was later lived in by the Misses Scott, then Millar/Gibson and was sadly lost to a fire in 2020. Quite a collection of barns where the Scotts kept cows.

About Lisa Curry Mair

Lisa Curry Mair

Since establishing her business, Canvasworks Designs, in 1992, Lisa has been creating paintings for homes throughout the US, Canada and beyond, with over 1500 pieces now in private collections, museums, shops and galleries. Working from a studio in a 1790s home, at the base of a mountain in a really old, small town in Vermont, her art reflects a time gone by. Peaceful colors, pastoral scenes and quiet images of farm life and equine themes prevail and a certain folk art feel adds a touch of whimsy and simplicity to her work.
